english lesson: about herd, team, panel and other COLLECTIVE NOUNS

The jury ____________ their seats in the courtroom.
TAKE or TAKES ?

answer: TAKE
why? eventhough that JURY is a collective noun which demands SINGULAR VERB ( other collective nouns such as STAFF, HERD, TEAM, PANEL, BOARD, AUDIENCE, etc) but in the sentence it focuses to the INDIVIDUAL PERSON in the jury by the phrase "their seats"

so FOURTH YEAR students: please try to analyze the sentence also and get some clues and phrases whether the whole sentence deserves a singular verb OOOOOOOOOORRRR plural verb.

topic: collective noun. subject-verb agreement
